If you don’t feel like a day at the theme parks there’s still plenty to do right on your own doorstep at the Port Orleans resorts. Both resorts provide various complimentary poolside activities, evening campfires and outdoor Disney movie screenings, along with a range of extra activities (some of which have a separate charge).

The latest schedules should be posted around the resort from the start of each month, or check at the Front Desk (printed copies are no longer automatically issued to every guest). For more details of other resort activities please see our main Recreation page.

Outdoor activities are subject to change, and obviously can be cancelled or moved indoors due to inclement weather. Pool hours and lifeguard availability varies seasonally by pool, and is also subject to change.

Reminders: As from March 2nd 2014, the Port Orleans Riverside Levee boat rental facility was permanently closed, although Bicycle and Surrey Bike rentals are still available. Also the “Bayou Pirate Adventure” riverboat activity cruise for children was discontinued on March 30th 2017.

Evening Live Musical Entertainment

No visit to Port Orleans Riverside would be complete without spending an evening in the company of the legendary “Ye Haa” Bob Jackson at the River Roost Lounge, playing 8:30pm—midnight four nights a week (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday).

Over at French Quarter, the new Scat Cat’s Club Lounge, located in the space that back in the nineties used to be the charming table-service restaurant Bonfamille’s Café, you can enjoy live entertainment with your cocktails three nights a week. The resident Jazz Fusion Band perform on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings in half-hour sessions beginning at 7:30 pm, 8:30pm, 9:30pm, and 10:30pm.

The Tie-dye activity costs $18 for a shirt (available from 4+ for kids, up to adults XL) or $8 for a pillowcase. They are provided pre-tied ready to form a Mickey head shape once dyed using your choice of colours.

You should pre-book for the Mosaic classes, ideally a few days in advance as spaces are limited, suitable for ages 12+. Visit or call the Riverside Levee Marina on (407) 934-5507. Payment of $35 plus tax will be made on the day. Everything you need is included, and you’ll get a complimentary dessert item during your session too.

Mardi Gras, Tuesday February 13th 2024

The annual Port Orleans Mardi Gras celebrations will kick off with the cast members’ famous Pargo Parade at 10am-11am. This year’s parade theme is “Celebrating Walt Disney World Parades of Past and Present”. Come partake in the fun with themed golf carts, music and goodies. The route covers both resorts, starting beside the Acadian House mansion building at Riverside and then traveling down past all the mansion buildings before crossing over the river and starting its second leg along the French Quarter riverbank pathway, cutting in between Buildings 1 and 2 into the central courtyard area.

12pm-4pm: Mardi Gras Courtyard Crafts: Join us for arts & crafts in the French Quarter courtyard.

5pm-10pm Mardi Gras Party: Music, feathers, bead and masks... What more do we need to have a blast? This event at the French Quarter Courtyard has fun, games, and crafting for the whole family!
